Welcome… to the community of Calvary Lutheran Church. Whether you are a current member,  interested in becoming a member, or just visiting our site to check us out, we joyfully greet you and welcome you.

WE ARE AN OPEN AND WELCOMING FAITH COMMUNITY, CONNECTING ALL TO KNOW CHRIST.

The idea of connecting has become somewhat trendy lately. So what does it mean at Calvary? Simply, it’s taking our God-given gifts and putting them into action within our church, community and world. It means serving with local mission partners like the NEW Community Shelter, Ecumenical Partnership for Housing and our church run food pantry. Teaming up with our companion missionaries in Tanzania to spread the good news of Christ. Rolling up our sleeves with mission trips to flood and tornado disaster areas. You see, it’s not just lip service for us. We put our faith into practice. Matthew 25 says “…Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” We are making connections and living out our faith every single day at Calvary. All are welcome to join our efforts.

  • What's a service like?
    • Worship at Calvary offers praise and thanksgiving to a loving and gracious God in Jesus Christ. Our worship shares God’s gifts of forgiveness, life and hope through Word and Sacrament. We utilize the historic Christian order of Gathering, Word, Meal and Sending. We desire to demonstrate diversity in our use of music, language and leadership in order to invite and deepen the faith of all.
  • What's the music like?
    • Music plays a big role at Calvary. Our director, Kent Paulsen works with 6 others to plan and provide music for worship and inspiration. Much of our worship time is music led using a pipe organ, piano, digital keyboard, trumpets, percussion, voice, bells, chimes and even an occasional boom-whacker! Much of the music that is provided is from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymn book as well as unique renditions of familiar songs that updated with a flavor of jazz.
    • Please consider taking part in this meaningful small group ministry. The functions of a church choir:
      • The church choir leads and enlivens the assembly’s song.
The church choir serves as a small-group within the church.
The church choir sings beautiful and inspiring music to praise God and edify the congregation.
      • Our Adult Choir is open to interested adults and high school youth. The primary prerequisite is a passion for singing and leading worship.
      • We offer a two-octave bell choir for adults and one for younger children.
      • We also have two children’s choirs with instruments, voices and percussion. We work to let everyone know that all God’s children have a place in the choir. Some rehearsals are on Sunday mornings while others happen during the week. Call the office for more information.
  • How people dress?
    • Dress here is casual and varied. On game days you will know that Lambeau field is only a few blocks away. Children come in Soccer gear to head out after worship. Some come in their “Sunday best.” We welcome you however you are dressed.
  • What about my kids?
    • Yes, bring the kids! We have children’s messages at our Sunday services. Some families sit in the front rows with their children, others sit in the middle or back and still others make use of our young children’s play room.
    • Our nursery child care provider welcomes all children birth through 4 years old into our nursery on Sunday mornings. We provide a safe, secure and inviting nursery for our youngest children to play and be cared for while their parents attend worship. The nursery is available on Sundays from 8:00 – 11:45 am.
  • Can I take communion?
    • Holy Communion is a meal for all the baptized. We offer a first communion preparation program geared for children in the 3rd grade. But, we have children communing at a younger age and some waiting until they are older. Parents are in conversation with the pastors and their children to help them prepare.
    • As a general practice Holy Communion is offered at every worship service every week of the year. All who seek the forgiveness of sins and the real presence of Christ in the eating and drinking are welcome to participate.
  • How can I get connected?
    • You can drop a note in the offering plate, email us, call the office or talk with a staff member and we’ll help you get connected with the people and connecting programs that you are interested. We are always very eager to help you feel a part of the ministry that we do.
  • Where do I park?
    • Most of the parking for Calvary is in the off-street lot at the corner of Ridge road and Langlade road. Parishioners also park along Ridge road and 9th street closer to the original main entry way. And you’ll find that a few people walk from their homes to be in attendance.
