Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.

MINISTRIES & OUTREACH   MINISTRIES

There are numerous ways to become an active part in the many ministries of Calvary — everything from assisting with the worship services, singing in one of the church choirs, to Bible study groups and teaching Sunday School. The opportunities are endless. You will find many, but not all, of the ministries listed below. Involvement in one of the ministries helps the Calvary community utilize its talents and gifts, and grow spiritually and emotionally. It’s also a lot of fun!

Calvary Players: The ministry of Calvary Players is twofold. First, we seek to present meaningful dramas, musicals and family entertainment to the congregation and the greater community. Second, we want to create an atmosphere where people can work together for a common goal, make new friends, and discover their own hidden talents. In the process, we hope to be able to share God’s love.   Calvary Players typically has a main production every year. This production has open auditions and we welcome talent from the community. We have also contributed to worship dramas and skits.   The mission of meaningful music and drama, making friends and uncovering hidden talents is what we are all about. We enjoy discovering new actors and encouraging new directors. As the Calvary Players heads into the future we ask God to bless our efforts.

OUTREACH
We are a church that believes God is calling us into the world — together. We don’t have to do it alone, and we don’t have to do everything. Each of us has a unique story, and we are part of a larger story that makes up the ELCA. We work through our congregations, synods and partners, and the churchwide organization. Together, we achieve things on a scale and scope that we could never do otherwise.   We are a church that rolls up our sleeves and gets to work. We seek to do God’s work in the world — restoring and reconciling communities. We pursue justice and seek peace no matter how long the journey or wide the chasm.
