Calvary is a teaching church. From Pre-kindergarten, to the Quilters and "Grumpy Old Men" (a volunteer Monday morning work crew), Calvary has something for everyone.
Since a portion of our membership is below the age of 18, Calvary has created youth programs to invite and encourage young people to get involved blending Christian unity with learning, serving, and fun.
Children
Genesis Christian Pre-School
Genesis Christian Pre-School is a Christian pre-school for children ages three to five years.Genesis emphasizes social, emotional, physical and intellectual development, and is open to all children, regardless of religion. Curriculum is based upon materials the children need to know for kindergarten, and taught by experienced educators.
Classes are divided by age group:
Nursery Program (3-4 yr. olds) The Nursery School Program runs on Tuesdays & Thursdays. You have the choice of either the 9 to 11 a.m. morning session, or the 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. afternoon session.
Pre-School Program (4-5 yr. olds) The Pre-School Program runs on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. You can choose between the 9-11:30 a.m. morning session, or the 12:30-3:00 p.m. afternoon session.

Vacation Bible School & Day Camp
Each summer, Calvary holds a Vacation Bible School for children in grades Pre-K thru First. (Current offering & registration) Each Summer Calvary also offers a Day Camp, in conjunction with Crossways Camping Ministries, for children in grades second thru fifth.(Current offering & registration)
Baptism
Calvary baptizes people of all ages. Baptisms are normally done during worship services on Thursday evenings, Saturday afternoons, and on non-communion Sundays (second and fourth Sundays) at 10:30 a.m. For a baptismal application/more information please contact the office.
Sunday School
Sunday School is for children in grades Pre-K thru Fifth. It runs during the school year, each Sunday, 9:20-10:20 a.m. Calvary uses a “rotation” approach to the curriculum where children rotate through different areas to teach the lesson of the day in a variety of learning styles (i.e. puppet show, art area etc.).

First Communion
Calvary typically holds First Communion for our fifth grade members during the school year. First Communion is preceded by a class which further describes the meaning and importance of the sacrament of communion. The fifth grade students then commune as a group during a Sunday worship service.
CSI (Christ Shaping Individuals) - Confirmation Program
Confirmation, or CSI (Christ Shaping Individuals), runs during the school-year on Wednesday evenings, 6:30-7:30 p.m. We have a Meet & Greet time with refreshments each week from 6:00-6:30pm.

Unit-1 (typically 6th grade students) and Unit-2 (typically 7th grade students)- Are the first two years of the three years of Confirmation. This group is on a 2-year rotation. Year 1 studies The Sacraments, Lord’s Prayer and Old Testament. Year 2 studies the New Testament and 10 Commandments.
Unit-3: Is typically for eighth grader students. The year covers Martin Luther and what it means to be Lutheran, aspects of worship, Peer Ministry, stewardship and the Apostles Creed.(Top of Page)
Youth at Calvary (YAC)
Since a portion of our membership is below the age of 18, Calvary has created youth programs to invite and encourage young people to get involved. Groups such as Junior YAC (Youth at Calvary) for middle school aged kids, and Senior YAC for high school aged kids blend Christian unity with learning, serving, and fun.

Bible Studies
Calvary offers a variety of times and places to learn more about the Bible and discuss the importance of the Word in today's world.
· Sunday 9:20 a.m. (meets year-round at Calvary in the Lower Conference Room)
· Tuesday 5:30 p.m. (meets year-round at Calvary)
· Wednesday 6:45 a.m. @ Denny's (meets year-round at Denny's on Oneida Street)
· Senior Connection 3rd wed. of each month 11:00 a.m. (meets year-round at Calvary)
· Mom's Bible study Fridays 9:30 a.m. (meets during the school year at Calvary)
· Men's Bible Study 4th Tuesday of each month (meets year-round at Calvary in the Lounge)
· ChristCare P.M. Group meets in the Calvary Library every other Tuesday from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
· ChristCare A.M. Group meets every other Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in members' homes
· Ruth Circle meets the second Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at members' homes.
· Today's Women meets every three weeks during the school year
Calvary College
Calvary College is an institution of higher learning in the area of Lutheran religious studies. Our mission is to equip students to be witnesses to their faith in Jesus Christ. Our goal is to help students learn, reflect upon and share what it means to believe in Jesus Christ who is our Savior and Lord. We will educate our students about the distinctive features of the Lutheran understanding of the Christian faith and how it provides a solid structure and dealing with challenges of living this faith in a changing world.
